NAYA is proud to have brought the first ever modular housing project to the Portland, and one of the first in the nation. Kah San Chako Haws, which means “East House” in Chinook Jargon, is a LEED Gold-Certified building project that proves NAYA has the capacity for ambitious, inventive development that serves our community.

Affordable, Sustainable Housing

Featuring nine-units of modern housing in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom configurations, modular buildings are mostly-finished before being transported to the site and assembled rapidly. The Lents neighborhood (in SE Portland) site has a lower environmental impact and a faster construction time than traditional, stick-built construction. By assembling components at a factory before transporting them to the building site, the process is simplified, redundant transportation is eliminated, and the carbon footprint of the project is dramatically decreased.
