Walter Hammond is a financial leader passionate about building strong communities with the people of not-for-profit (NFP) organizations. His career has focused on supporting community development organizations in a variety of financial leadership roles. Most recently, he has served as an interim CFO and consultant for several NFP’s in the Portland area. Prior to returning to the Pacific Northwest, he was Deputy CFO for Overseas Operations at USAID and served as a Mission Controller in multiple countries, where he partnered with local NFP’s to strengthen the fiscal systems essential to their programmatic success as well as their long-term agency and resiliency. Earlier, he served as Financial Director for three community-focused NFP’s in the West Puget Sound region. Walter’s vision is to open doors to the possible.

Holding an MBA from Gonzaga University, Walter is an avid global explorer, uncovering hidden gems and embracing the Pacific Northwest's beauty through hiking.
