Becca Gruner is a citizen of the Viejas Bands of Kumeyaay Indians and a nonprofit professional with over 13 years of experience serving tribal communities and organizations. She currently serves as Executive Assistant to the CEO at the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA), supporting organizational leadership and advancing NAYA’s mission: “to enhance the diverse strengths of our youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education.”

Previously, Becca managed NAYA’s Culture Education and Wellness programs, overseeing afterschool, cultural arts, recreation, and camp programming for students in grades 2–12. She also launched the Educational Reengagement Program, helping youth ages 14–21 reconnect with school, earn diplomas or GEDs, and access college and career pathways. Her earlier career with her tribe at the Viejas Community Services Department in California included leading youth leadership programs, supervising academic support teams, and managing afterschool tutoring and enrichment for K–12 students.

Becca is a first-generation college graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, a Master of Arts in Human Behavior, and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from National University. She also serves as Vice President of the Board for the Oregon Indian Education Association. Outside of work, she enjoys life with her husband and their dogs.
