Revitalizing the Gifting Tradition
The Native community has always been mutually-supportive, with strong bonds across generations, our resilient spirit guiding everything we do. Gifting is how we show respect, and honor our ancestors who passed this tradition onto us.On Thursday May 21, we’re calling on our community, Native and non-Native, to revitalize the tradition of gifting to help break the cycle of childhood poverty. United Way of the Columbia Willamette is holding a one-day event intended to break the childhood poverty in our region. Donors who give more than $24 to the United Way on May 21st can cast a vote for a local non-profit. While giving is what’s important, we hope you’ll cast your vote for NAYA.Click here to sign up for NAYA’s More than 24 Email List. We’ll send you a few reminders in the weeks leading up to May 21st, and one more the day of the event. Even if you can't give money, you can pledge to support United Way by volunteering. In 2014, our community came together like never before, and together we helped United Way raise more than $100,000. Our people have spoken: our greatest strengths are community, culture, and resilience. We’re revitalizing the tradition of gifting, to help break the cycle of childhood poverty. Join us.
