Nawitka Catering

Nawitka Catering was founded in 2008 by the Native American Youth and Family Center, a 501(c)3 non profit organization. It was created as a social enterprise that provides work experience, training and employment opportunities to Portland’s Native American and Alaskan Native community.

All of our proceeds go back into supporting the mission of the Native American Youth and Family Center, which is to “enhance the diverse strengths of our youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education.”  This is what makes us standout from other local caterers. Your business helps provide youth and adults with opportunities to gain valuable training and experience in the food service industry. Nawitka Catering currently provides daily lunch service to several Portland area schools and caters large and small events for local non profit and for profit organizations.

At Natwitka Catering we pride ourselves in catering cuisine with the bounty around us. We use local and sustainable food suppliers and have an extensive on-site organic garden that provides fresh produce for use in meal preparation. The garden also serves as a learning garden for youth, they learn through direct, hands-on experience the process of growing and harvesting food. Meals are prepared with fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit whenever possible. We offer a wide-variety of menus from many cultures, including our growing selection of Native American menu options.
