The Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA Family Center) is currently looking for eight new AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members. Diverse, creative and resourceful members are needed to help build capacity and discover new resources for the NAYA Early College Academy, and also to aid NAYA Family Center with our sustainability, financial capacity, community partnerships, youth services, volunteer recruitment and our employment and housing services.

VISTAs are expected to commit to one full year of full-time service with no outside commitments. Members receive unique on-site and AmeriCorps group training, career development, health coverage, a volunteer living stipend ($398-$383 every other week), monthly Tri-Met bus passes and they are eligible for moving and childcare benefits.  Upon successful completion, VISTAs may qualify to receive a $4725 educational award or a $1200 cash stipend.  VISTAs who choose to receive the educational award may also receive student loan forbearance and interest reimbursement on qualified student loans. NAYA Family Center VISTA members will also be required to attend a limited number of evening and weekend events, such as the Youth and Elders Honoring Ceremony and the Winter Gathering.
